Head Chemists
Head Chemists is an experimental three-piece band, who write, record, publish and broadcast their music worldwide. The three talented songwriters and musicians formed Head Chemists while they were students of Elon University studying abroad in London. The band includes John David Parsons, BenJamin Freeman-Prichard and John A. Loy.
After graduation, Benjamin moved to the island of Kauai to write new songs, and find the elusive Head Chemists, Hawaiian beetle. In 2007, he established the Head Chemists Publishing Company LLC. He has currently has a catalog of 250 published songs registered with BMI. The music is currently available for licensing through Pump Audio, Apple Music, Yousician, Pandora, Amazon Music, and Singa.
Following the successful release in 2005 of their debut album, Bittersweet Melody, Head Chemists continued with the process of writing and recording new music. Annually releasing new samples of their music online for their fans. The bands fan base has been steadily growing through creating band pages on Youtube, Number One Music, Facebook, and Home Grown Music Network. Through the use of the Internet their fans and music are all at the click of a button. John Loy is currently employed as the Head Audio Archive Engineer for University of North Carolina. In 2015, John Loy completed building his own world class recording studio, Clay Blue Studios in Saxapahaw, North Carolina. He has now worked with hundreds of musicians directing music recording, film productions and marketing campaigns.
Head Chemists continues to get their music placed in films, music videos and television commercials. In 2015, John David Parson moved to Los Angelas where he is employed writing computer code for cutting edge artificial intelligence. He continues to produce music in his down time, mastering sound scapes and crafting their signature Chem Pop sound. In 2007, John David Parsons and John Loy produced the soundtrack for “A Christmas Family Tragedy” which was nominated for the Capote Awards, Best Music for a True Crime Documentary and in 2008 they placed seven Head Chemists songs in Project Pericles documentary, A Rivers Reach.
